Meiyuan Xincun Memorial Hall of the Delegation of the Communist Party of China

The Meiyuan Xincun Memorial Hall of the Delegation of the Communist Party of China, a branch of the Nanjing Museum Administration, is located at No.18-1 Hanfu Road within the Meiyuan Xincun Historical and Cultural Block in Xuanwu District of Nanjing. It is a historic revolutionary memorial to commemorate a Communist Party of China (CPC) delegation headed by Zhou Enlai. From May 1946 to March 1947, the delegation engaged in peace talks in Nanjing with the then Kuomintang (KMT) government. It is a national patriotism education demonstration base, a national classic red tourism spot, and a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The memorial is composed of the Site of the Office of the CPC Delegation, the KMT-CPC Nanjing Talks Historical Records Exhibition Hall, the Bronze Statue of Zhou Enlai, the Zhou Enlai Library, and the Site of the Office of the Eight Route Army in Nanjing. The Site of the Office of the CPC Delegation is now a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. It includes No.17, 30, and 35 Meiyuan Xincun. No.30 Meiyuan Xincun was the place where Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao worked and lived. No.35 Meiyuan Xincun was the place where Dong Biwu, Li Weihan, Liao Chengzhi, and Qian Ying worked and lived. No.17 Meiyuan Xincun was the place where the offices of the CPC delegation were located.

The memorial’s nearly ten thousand cultural objects and valuable historical documents truthfully reflect the difficulties of the peace talks between CPC and KMT.

Permanent exhibition: “Meiyuan Style: KMT-CPC Nanjing Talks Historical Records Exhibition”.
