This porcelain holding utensil has a grayish white body and is coated with green glaze. Fat and strong, the prostrated sheep has its four feet curled under its body, with its head raised, its mouth opened, and its ears erected. The mane of the sheep spreads on its neck and back, while two wings are carved on its belly. On the head of the sheep, there is a round hole to hold things. The smooth, clean glaze and the beautiful, symmetrical shape of this utensil perfectly reveal the meek and humble nature of the sheep. It is indeed a celadon masterpiece of the Six Dynasties.
